We explore the values of Host Leadership where the goal is to enable great performance, not prevent bad outcomes.

Whether your organisation is aligned with or working towards the HOP approach or not, the five principles of HOP can be applied by leaders in any area of any industry – from mining and oil and gas, to aviation, rail, maritime, construction and essential services. People make mistakes, blame fixes nothing, context drives behaviour, learning is vital and response matters. These five principles, when explored in a leadership context, can provide a solid foundation for making human-centered decisions and working towards operational improvements.

Host Leadership Courses

Not every leader has to be a hero. Within Host Leadership, we explore the notion of the leader as host – the one who brings people together, not to make every decision, but to enable the best outcomes from inviting, engaging and connecting those who do make decisions, to set them up for success.

Advanced Management and Leadership Course

Learn the principles and skills that successful managers follow and develop a deeper insight into your own management and leadership style. This 5-day accredited course contributes to the BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership & Management and covers topics such as emotional intelligence, communication, people management and leading change.

Personal Management and Leadership Course

Southpac’s Personal Management and Leadership Course is provided as an in-house course and can be tailored to any organisational environment. Over the course of one, two or three days, leaders and managers will be guided through setting personal and work goals, effective time management, the importance of gaining and maintaining competence and how to be a better networker.

Supervisor Training

Southpac has developed courses to support Mining operators to meet statutory supervisor competencies for WHS Risk Management and WHS Policies & Management Systems. Our Statutory Supervisor WHS training delivers the two mandatory nationally accredited units (BSBWHS411 Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures, and programs; BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management).
